design

I’ve been fortunate enough to work on a few small design projects, and you can see some examples of recent work here.

I’ve now facilitated three editions of a concert series entitled ‘Waratah Nights’, held at Waratah House in Annandale, NSW, Australia. These are inclusive events with curated lineups, showcasing the work of talented local songwriters. For the most recent show, I put together a few pieces of marketing material, including this promotional poster, with hills-hoist drawn on commission by Riley Pierce.

I recently worked with ‘Post‘, a band based in Sydney, Australia, on branding and design materials to accompany the release of their sophomore record ‘Fitzville’.

Album & Single Art – ‘Fitzville’.

Working with the principal songwriter of the band, I helped to establish a design language for the record, using a combination of film photos & digital manipulation alongside structured sans-serif fonts & hand-drawn titles. These tandem visual elements were intended to echo the juxtaposition of warped and digitally distorted audio alongside natural instrumentation and tones that features prominently on the record.

Merchandise design – ‘Greetings from Fitzville’ Tee.

Produced a design for a T-Shirt to be sold on the supporting tour for the record. Playing off of the record’s theme of ‘place’, and the image of the fictional town as it’s namesake, I created a design that would speak to the broader musical heritage of the record, while also evoking the landscape of the country in/on which it was conceived. The final design references classic Australian iconography and fonts featured in the work of design luminaries like Gert Sellheim, alongside imagery and elements often featured on vintage American tourism postcards and materials.

Promotional Materials – ‘Fitzville’ Tour Poster.

Also produced a poster and promotional materials used for the tour that accompanied the release of the record, featuring original film photography and sitting in continuity with the design language established for the album art.
